Episode 310

Songs To Learn And Sing - Episode 310

Joe Meek - I Hear A New World (Cherry Red Records, 2006)

This episode featured three tracks from I Hear A New World, Meek's 1961 "outer space music fantasy" concept album as performed by Rod Freeman and The Blue Men. Brilliantly crazed sounds and effects and still sounds great almost 40 years later. For those who missed last year's Nick Moran directed Meek biopic, Telstar, check out the trailer below. Con O'Neill is fantastic as Meek and Carl Barât does a pretty convincing turn as Gene Vincent!
